Like most Minnesotans, you cherish our state’s lakes, rivers, streams, forests, natural areas, parks and trails.

And you know that defending existing environmental laws from being weakened or repealed is crucial to protecting Minnesota’s Great Outdoors for future generations.

This is especially true when it comes to ensuring that Minnesota continues to make progress on the path to a clean energy future. But there are very real threats to this clean energy future, including:

  • New coal-burning power plants: Minnesota is a leader in clean energy technology and energy efficiency. But these achievements can be easily erased if new coal-burning power plants are built.
  • Repealing the moratorium on new nuclear power plants: More nuclear energy is not a sensible or cost-effective solution to increasing our energy independence. We must not let a misguided push for new nuclear power plants derail our progress on installation of renewable energy such as wind and solar.
